Miwon began djing in 1998 and was soon playing in various venues around Berlin, including nbi, Hybridlounge, Goldmund and Suncity, most of these places have vanished in the meantime. Since 2000 I play liveshows and put out records. First stations were the labels hal9000 and Kohvirecords from Estonia, since 2004 I release on CCO (Berlin/Manchester).
So far, there are several EPs and two Miwon albums - Pale Glitter and A To B. They develop my personal version of abstract electronic pop, cherished by worldwide listeners and critics alike. In addition to my solo project I play with the electroacoustic trio Cushion Caroms and am a longterm member of FeedBackOrchester.
Apart from my musical ventures I do professional sound design and write for magazines, e.g. de:bug, Groove and Stylemag.
New album out on LP/CD/MP3, available in your favourite record shop or here.
First, there is the bullet train. Once inside, Miwon unpacks his euphoric melodies, haunting atmospheres, killer beats and sweet, irresistable pop songs. On "A To B" Miwon takes his love for electronic music to another level, making it even more accessible. Ranging from hands-down popsongs to more dancefloor-orientated tunes, clearly influenced by Cologne pioneers like Burger/Ink and true ballads, Miwon explores all possible angles of electronica. Featuring the talents of the japanese singer Maho Masuda, as well as Sibylle Fendt, Nick Gloeckner on guitar and Galaktlan on synths, "A To B" will help you getting through the winter in no time. And through the summer. And back again. From A to B.
Miwon - Synthesizer, Guitar, Voice, Laptop
Love your sound! Just ordered a copy of your Pale Glitter album and I am anxiously awaiting its arrival by mail.
