About
One of the most promising new dj’s from Portugal, Miguel Moleiro aka Dj Molaws has a not long but dazzling career.
Born in Lisbon in 1983 and living in the sunny village of Cascais, Molaws had music in his life from an early age. After playing a number of musical instruments, it was finally in 1998 that he fell in love with electronic music, namely trance. In 2001 he acquired his first spinning gadgets and spent the next three years perfecting his craft and refining his taste at home. His closest friends almost forced him to start playing in small bars and friends’ parties.
He got his first big breaktrough in October 2005, when he was invited to be the pioneer in a night with Jaia and Jeppe in Lisbon’s Club Lua. “Alia jacta est”: Since then he played with great names of the electronic scene like Son Kite, Yotopia, Atmos, Sebastian Kruger(SBK), Peter Didgital, Kasey Talylor,Dick Trevor, System Brothers, Raja Ram, JP, Pena, John-E; Gustavo,Seph, Kaesar, Rodrigo Nickel.
Molaws overflowing and playful sets destroyed dancefloors in Club Lua, Sabotage, Toyota Box, Coconuts, Europa Club, Paradise Garage, Solar da Paz, Souk, 4 Us, Clip’s Bar, B4 and Quinta do Hilário.
In January 2007, he went abroad for the first time. Along with djs Seph and Kaesar, he spent one month playing in the NW-brazilian hot summer parties, in places like Bang Bang, Tostex and Cauim (in the worlwide famous Trancoso), Magnolia in Arraial da Ajuda and Lagoa Azul in Praia do Taípe.
Nowadays his style is eclectic, combining progressive trance, electro and house, never forgetting the great influence trance has had in his early beginnings as a dj.
Known to be a perfectionist and with a smart eye for the mood and vibes crossing the dancefloor, Molaws’ magic fingers will control your heartbeat and rock your body all night long. Here lies the promise of a time well spent.
