About

Selector Moldy is a DJ, producer, and label head of Heavy Pressure Recordings.

His DJ career spans for more than 9 years and he has graced the decks in Portland Maine, Boston, Hartford, New London, New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco and London at nights including Elements, The Rinse, Runnin', Pressure Sessions, Acupuncture, Agency, Camouflage, Direct Drive, Homegrown, Konkrete Jungle, Push, Recess, Dub War 4, Dub War 5, Smog Sessions, Grime City and Total Niceness. He has shared the booth with talent including Adam F, Breakage, Digital, Dara, Dieselboy, AK-1200, Miztah Lex, Clever, Sileni, Juju, Liondub, Loefah, Joe Nice, Nick Argon, Djunya and Luke Envoy.

He has the distinction of being the resident Dubstep selector at Konkrete Jungle in New York City.

Moldy's sound has been described as clean, melodic, deep, and cinematic. With beats often leaning into Dancehall Reggae or Hip Hop territory, his tunes drop with an exclamation point; carried by heavy-hitting dub-wise bass lines. Attentive listeners of all genres will be down with the subtle elements he weaves into his productions; music which moves the dancefloor and engages the mind.

In 2006 he formed Heavy Pressure Recordings. The first release, Moldy's "Windmill Dub"/"The Black Forest (Part 1)" became available in December 2006, distributed by Nu-Urban Music UK/USA.

Moldy was born and raised in Portland, Maine and currently resides in New York City.
