my concept for this week's track was that i wanted to completely synthesize something. i wanted to start with no samples, no recordings, no synth patches, nothing, and finish with (hopefully) something.

so i began with adobe audition. it has a "generate" feature, where you can have it generate a tone at whatever freeq you want, or a burst of white noise for however long you want. using that feature, i created three different sounds. you can hear them at the beginning of the track, in their pure undiluted awesomeness. then i spent two days cutting and effecting and pitchshifting and micro-editing, until i had about a hundred different drum samples. then i went back to the original three sounds, and spent a day or two making kontakt sampler patches.

then i constructed a song out of the drum samples and sampler patches i had made.

so, all the sounds you hear are derived from those three sounds at the beginning. no other samples or synths or recordings were used in the making of this song.
