The guys behind monstr first met at school in '83 brought together by their shared obsession with the electronic sounds of Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys and Yazoo and earlier music they'd found on dusty old LPs from Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream and Kraftwerk.

They were often found in their school corridors sitting cross legged with a Casio MT-68 and a Casio SK1, paying homage to the synthesizer greats new and old, and performing the occasional rendition of "House Nation" much to the bemusement of their class mates.

Later they sweated to acid house at the Hacienda, witnessed Sasha's rise at Shelleys and since 1992 have held DJ residencies in the UK at Golden and Reckless spinning throbbing electronic funk to the eager masses.

Finally after 25 years of musical tinkering they started to take it seriously and formed monstr.
