Mike Odmark Productions

Folk / Funk / Grime

Inglewood, TN

Billboard

Mike Odmark is a young record producer based in Nashville, TN. Originally from Rochester, NY, Odmark has studied at Recording Workshop (Chillacothe, OH), Belmont University (Nashville) and under the renowned Mitch Dane at Sputnik Studios. In the winter of 2005, he struck out on his own as an independent producer and engineer.

While Mike Odmark strives to capture musical moments, to make the most authentic-sounding records possible, and to contribute something to our culture, the most important aspect of his recording philosophy is that of community. The collaboration between artist and producer is what allows the recording process to take place; therefore, the relationships that are formed in and out of the studio define the tone of any given album. Pushing to further expand this concept of community, Odmark is also actively involved in organizing an art / music movement called the Undercurrent Collective.

Mike Odmark currently lives in Inglewood, where he works out of his home studio adjacent to the Cumberland River.

What People are Saying:

of Evan Goodberry's "The Middle of the World
"Some of the quieter tracks, like "Thunderstorms," even evoke the quiet folk sensibilities of Iron & Wine. The elements you might expect - soft and sweet vocals, acoustic guitar, piano - are there on every song, but the production for this local artist is so good, the songs feel much richer and deeper. There's a nice mix of additional guitars, keys, and backing vocals, all played subtly so as not to overwhelm Goodberry's voice and guitar, and they greatly add to these mellow but lovely songs."

of Daniel Ellsworth's "Between the Sea and the Sun"
"Recorded at Sputnik Studios with up and coming Nashville producer/engineer, Mike Odmark (Brian Militana, Allie Peden, Aaron Roche, Evan Goodberry, Ivan Colon), "Between The Sea & The Sun" sparkles with brilliant production that truly brings this music to life. "
-pulse of the twin cities

of Tyler James
"James new EP Sweet Relief pushes his beloved vintage elements even further, ornamenting the tunes with a lush palette of horns, guitar and even pedal steel. It is a more complex sound, indicating grander ambitions (and resources)."
