About

I'm a person and stuff. Mostly person, sometimes stuff. My name is Brian, male, 26 years of age. A typical New Zealand Chinese who's currently posted back in Singapore. I was born in Singapore and grew up in New Zealand.

Since childhood I've always thought I'm a pure chinese, like maybe my great great grand father canoe-ed all the way from China through shark infested South China Sea and somehow managed to land on the great Malaya land. Settled down and married a sweet Chinese girl. But noooooooooooo! My family finally decided to burst my fairy tale bubble and confessed to me otherwise.

On my dad's side, the family tree traced all the way to England So now I have a little bit of chinese + english blood. And from my mom's side my grandad, who is a chinese, married an Iban. Now I have a little bit of Iban blood. And god knows if my ancestors from both sides shagged anyone else in between. So I'm a mixed chinese-english-iban, an official Rojak! Incase any of you who don't know the term "Rojak" I'll let wikipedia.org explain it to you :

"Rojak is a fruit and vegetable salad dish commonly found in Singapore and Indonesia (where it is called rujak). The term "Rojak" is Malay for mixture, is also used as a colloquial expression for an eclectic mix, and in particular is often used to describe the multi-ethnic character of Malaysian and Singaporean society."

In general most say that people of mixed blood are "smarter", I somehow disagree as I feel pretty stupid most of the time :p Most of my friends know me as a smart and quiet person. This is true, but I'm also a guy who enjoys life in every way, and I try to live my life in a way that is honoring to God. I love to laugh (at myself and others) and just have a good old time.

Lost in London

The days were spent attending meetings, nothing worth mentioning. On Friday and Saturday we went window shopping and snapped a couple of pictures. We also attended the game between England and Israel Euro 2008 Qualifier at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, the tickets cost …

Paypal access limited

I made a call to Paypal Support, a singapore number (65-6510-4650), but I guess it was too late as they are already off work, so I made another call to their Support in the US (1-402-938-3531). Surprisingly the lady on duty that handles security was very polite and put …

Keeping sites content fresh is expensive!

I was going through my monthly budget and I noticed that I've been spending excessively on paying others to keep my sites fresh with contents on a daily basis. A bulk of the expenditure was spent on my not-so-new-anymore tech blog which so far have not seen much profit. …
