once i saw her up in the trees counting leaves and watching the ships near the harbour.
a little later we met in a shoe factory with its specific smell of leather and when night came everybody fell asleep.
my sister grenadine is wearing all kinds of toys and books and streetsigns and she always reminds me
to not drink too much coffee. someone said that she is the most beautiful boy he´d ever seen.

on the 27th of april or may or october my sister grenadine gave me a tiny japanese guitar
made of pale wood that nobody knows the name of. and ever since that day
i sit in front of my sister grenadine and look at her as she looks at me
and we play a couple of songs together. "

My sister grenadine is the acoustic side of the Berlin based musician Vincenz Kokot, who also is the singer and guitarist of the critically acclaimed post-rockers polaroid liquide. He started to write his atmospheric songs in summer 07 and began playing support shows for international acts as well as an acoustic tour through germany this spring. Concerts in France, Poland and Switzerland will follow throughout the year.

His debut CD named "Shine in the Dark" was released in summer 08 via Solaris Empire and is a letter to Vincenz's imaginary (or not so imaginary) sister Grenadine. A minimal album, pure of heart and vision that features ukulele, driving blues guitar and finger pickings and a soft voice that sounds like the wind through the trees. A magical and suprising album about postcards and snapshots and the secrets within matchboxes.
