I was raised on the prairie and moved to the Valley of the Sun in 2006. I am a 30something and love it! I've had family illness, death, step-motherhood, depression, night school, moving, career change.....basically anyone's life, just traveled in my shoes.
More specific background....I was a 9-1-1 dispatcher/operator for 14 years. The last five of those, I was the Director and it really became very stressful. In 2006, with college diploma in hand and relationships crumbling, I finally took off for Arizona where I had wanted to move for some time. I took a month off, traveled to Northern California, then landed a job at a mutual fund investment company for almost a year. Family illness directed my focus again and now I'm on another journey. Life is always full of surprises but that is what makes it worth living!
My passion is studying people, places, and things. I never want to stop learning and become an old crabby woman that thinks she knows it all. Future plans - I want to travel the world, go back to school, read all the books I own, and be a better human being.

The OaKs, Oct 9, 2007:
I'm glad you liked the songs! We hope to make it out to Tempe next year. BTW, whenever I'm on the road without the band I try to check out the local scene. It was so crazy around Mills/University that I couldn't even find a place to park this weekend, so I never got to ask anyone what their favorite live music club is. What's yours? - Tim
