I lost my ID so I couldn't take Elissa dancing. She's a good sport though, we got dinner with our pals by Faneuil Hall. Everyone was dressed nice. It really felt like Autumn.

I'm glad I moved into a place that is adequate to entertain. We had friends over last night. Friends from all over. Mass Art, Boston University, Reunion Church, Allston, Mission Hill. Old friends and new friends and strangers that i didn't know. We sang to Elissa "Mananitas" (Happy Birthday) when clock struck 12. I made sure everyone was doing well and tried to be a good host. It was nice and I didn't have to get drunk.

So Josh Davis will be speaking at the ICA tonight with Julie Lasky (I.D. Magazine) and J. Meejin Yoon. 15$ I already heard him speak earlier this month at QBN sessions in LA, but when does Boston ever get hit with a contemporary design celebrity of this proportion? This will be the third time that I attend one of his talks. They're always entertaining, always inspiring, and always make me want to go home and just do something! But I wont go home and do something, oh no, I'm going to dance instead, typical. There is a "5 HOUR DJ DANCE PARTY" at the Museum of Fine Arts. It's free and you get Pizza with College I.D. The MFA is a beautiful venue, so come, and dance (and dance and dance and dance some more!).

IdN Magazine

IdN Magazine asked my pal Alex and I to promote them this year at the Flashforward expo in Boston! Our relationship with IdN began last year when their publisher Laurence Ng came to MassArt looking for student volunteers. We helped sell and promote the magazine at the Siggraph technology festival in August. It was a sweet experience because a lot of big name companies (Weta, Google, Adobe etc..) were there just giving out free stuff and showing off what they got. IdN is pretty sweet, they publish underground design books and host their own design festivals around the world. Their main project, IdN magazine is an all out visually stimulating publication that covers what's going on in the design world. From the intense graphics to the spot varnishes and different stocks of paper used, everything is super designed in a trendy over the top way. I love it. We're booth 16 at the Flash Forward expo, so come hang out!

BOS to LAX

It's the first day of classes and I dipped out early. I presented my concept for degree, asked the professor to excuse me, and walked out with my duffel bag. 20 minutes later I'm running on airport linoleum with just my socks, belt and shoes around my neck. There are no passengers waiting at the gate and the person on the loud speaker is saying my name over and over again. Loudspeaker woman/Flight attendant checks me in and curtly lets me know that I'm the last one to board (sorry!). The on board movie is Pirates of the Caribbean 3. My friend changes his seat and accommodates himself next to me. He's been waiting for me since 5:00. I really didn't think I was going to make it.

Sooo I won a ticket to QBN Sessions at the Getty, TOMORROW! Joshua Davis! Shepard Fairy! Elite Graphic Designers! YESSSS! I'm flying out of Boston with my boyyy and we'll be staying on Venice Beach with my girrrl and I'm going to a city that I never imagined visiting and this couldn't have happened at a better time! Things we plan on doing: Skip work + class Play House Kick it with design heroes Take typical pictures in front of Hollywood sign Get a haircut (boyyy) Order everything off a dessert menu Check out a sweet church I won admission through motionographer, who got hooked up through Media Temple.
