General Motor's $4.2 BILLION Loss

Today, November 7th, GM reported a loss of $4.2 billion or $7.35, a big increase from the $1.6 billion that was reported last year's 3rd quarter. Analysts like Thomson Reuters, predicted a loss of $3.70 a share though they lost about double that.

From America's biggest automaker, how could they be losing so much money? Does everyone in America have a car? Chris Isidore of CNN Money said General Motor's Chief Executive Rick Wagoner, wouldn't talk about GM needing to file for bankruptcy in a conference call.

"We're convinced the consequences of bankruptcy would be dire and extend far beyond General Motors," Wagoner said. "We need to find a way to get through this and that's our focus."

Even worse than them going bankrupt, think of all the people being laid off. With 45 percent plunge in U.S. sales, I'm not too sure what they're going to do.

Carl Cameron over at Fox News' releases info that had been off the records during the elctions. The information he revealed showed that Sarah Palin thought Africa was a country. Sarah Palin's little Africa incident makes me even happier Obama won.

3 Life Tips to Use Anywhere

I don't like to think of myself as super-amazing at anything but most of the time in life I try my hardest. Then again, I'm also not a 99% student or a teenage millionaire, I do use a few different methods to control myself, feel better about anything and work towards perfection to make sure I get the most out of life.

Don't let your anger take control of yourself - This is how where everything bad in life happens. I've had times in school where someone's ticked me off bad and I felt like punching them, but then who would get in real trouble? Me. Like when my friend decided to draw on my notebook and I got really frustrated with him and the teacher didn't believe it was me and I got in trouble for distracting him. If I let it go, I wouldn't of gotten in trouble and he wouldn't of got a laugh out of it. Or if your boss or girlfriend (or boyfriend, girls) really gets you mad one day, just remember they're the people that will make you most happy in life and you've got to treat them better than anything in life. If you know you are right and you are absolutely sure about it, don't freak out on them. I've done this in the past and it makes them feel bad, hate you, and then you lose them as a business relation or partner. If they're really not going to do it your way, negotiate. If they owe you $50, comprise for $35 and at least you have them as someone to work with in the future instead of each of you having a grudge against one another.

Double check everything - If you're on a roll, with anything really, like telling jokes or writing amazing blog posts, don't do the next one without thinking. Just because you've gained the reputation, doesn't mean its easier to lose it. I recently saw the Onion Movie, a movie full of random comedic skits. In one skit was where a man was watching a terrorist training video, comparing two brothers, Aman and Amhed. Aman checks the bombing site before performing the work and looks up the latest Hollywood gossip to fit into an American crowd. Amhed doesn't check anything and leaves everything to the last minute, blowing up himself. Well, it would be good if terrorists were Amhed's, in their case or any case you've just got to check it again. (Note: Terrorists suck, and the skit is for entertainment purposes only, don't get insulted) I've also had some times when I was writing some blog posts that got featured on the site I was working for. I felt so happy that I decided to write another, which I assumed was good after writing it at not checking it for errors, I sent it off to the editor. It ended up having several mistakes, and I now double-check everything, no matter how confident I am.

Everything will work out, keep it real - Karma, basically. If you don't believe in a god, like me, use this as a way to help you get through rough times. I know someone who was playing around and broke someone's wrist. A year later, the guy who was fooling around broke his whole arm. Perhaps it was coincidence, or he got it worse on his time to get hurt. On another occasion I was talking to a friend and he was really being a jerk and kept telling hate me and had been like that for the past few weeks. I thought about they're behavior day and decided I'd just block him from Facebook and forget about him, I don't need to communicate to people like them. Next time I log in, one wall post. An apology explaining how they felt awful for the other day. What? Does everything work out? I don't believe in a god for a number of reasons I'm not going into, but this really proves something out there makes everything work out. So next time something happens to you, just remember it will be resolved, usually in your favor.

There are my 3 tips for you. I use each and every one every single day and they make me a stronger, smarter and overall better person. Give me some of your own tips for life in the comments.

Organic vs. Non Organic?

My previous post asked for your ideas on a science fair topic, I didn't use any of your ideas, but thanks for the suggestions. I've come up with the topic of organic vs. non organic foods.

This year I'll be testing 3 organic and 3 non organic fruits/vegetables to test which develops mold or rot first. By testing which rots first, I"ll be able to determine if the added preservaties to the non organic foods made any difference to the life span.

But I won't stop there. I'll conduct a survey with about 25 or more average consumers asking how long the tested foods are kept in their fridge before being eaten. With these two chunks of information, I'll be able to make an educuated guess if organic or non organic foods are better for the average homeowner.

I'll be sure to post progress reports for you all, let me know if you'd like anything else from this blog, as always.

Science Fair Topic?

For the second year, I'll be presenting at science fair at my school. We're required to create a bristol board with all of our information which will be judged by 5 judges, then further if it does well. On the board, we have to show basic information about our project like how the results can be used in real life.

Last year I did my project on how different barriers affect the strengths of wifi signals. This year? Not sure quite yet. So a shout out to anyone reading, if you'd like to know something science related that you have a question about, let me know and I'll test it out and find an answer to it.

12 Year Old Boy Invents New Type of Solar Cell

Using carbon nanotubes the barriers of electron movement could be overcome, doubling the light to electricity conversion level of efficiency.

William Yuan a 12 year old boy in Beaverton, Oregon invented a new solar panel that "enables light absorption from visible to ultraviolet light." To overcome the many barriers of electron movement, he decided to use carbon nanotubes which overcame the barriers. By passing these barriers he could double the light-electricity conversion, making them up to 500 times more light absorption than commercially-available solar cells.

The optimized and more efficient design is 500 times more light absorption than the current solar cells. With these solar cells being so much more efficient, less solar panels with these cells would be required, making the cost cheaper, and less space needed to have solar panels. The technology is also more efficient meaning that solar panels with the cells could be more heavily relied on.

When will this cell be used in mass-market production of solar panels?

Internet Presence?

I haven't posted on my blog in almost forever (since July 12th) and am not sure why. Maybe its because I lost interest in blogging, or maybe it was because I felt lacking. But I just didn't have the same desire to post on my blog over the past months. When so many others were creating content that was spring on the web with thousands and thousands of views and I wasn't, I kind of wondered why I was writing, here and other places. There are plenty of other places, why read here? As much as I like writing, if not that many people are reading it, it isn't as complelling to write. I used the, "come on it'll hit big on digg!" saying to myself a bunch of times, but got sick of attempting numerous times. I then watched a bunch of interviews with internet superstars and icons, and realized that their success wasn't planned and jumped out on them. After doing it for so long I figured I must've been doing something wrong.

Now, I remember the days when I was on Twitter and all the other social networks and miss it, a bit. And what makes me even more sad is that my entire internet presence has been diminished. I'd like to bring it back, have lots of friends, know about all the news, and be "Twittering"

So I think I will start this up, but I'm not looking to become popular on the internet, which would be nice, but just develop a presence and a site I can be proud of.

If you need to contact me during those two weeks, try holding off till I return. However if it's super urgent, my dad will get the message if its super important.

Enjoy your summer!
