i can't believe it is already halloween. that means that thanksgiving and christmas are right around the corner. the holidays are here officially. it doesn't really feel like it... i am still somewhere back in may.
well, as i'm sure anyone reading this blog knows, i have finally started at ringling. i have enjoyed my time there so far, as i'm sure i will for the remainder of my time there. i love it - it's inspiring me to be creative all the time. i've produced more artwork in the past couple months than i have in a long time. and the awesome thing is that i'm constantly working with new ideas beyond school projects. the ideas just keep coming. for the artist, creativity is euphoria; art is the process. i'll see, i might post some of my school projects up sometime.
for anyone who has heard of the 48 hour film competitions, there is a local event that took place here in sarasota (guerrilla film festival). me and some of the guys from the church thought, hey we should go ahead and make a video for that. it was a lot of fun to make it, and also very challenging to get it done with the 48 hour time constraint. (we actually ended up finishing ours in 30 hours). it was a blast - oh, and we took first place! how cool is that? so i basically consider myself to be an international, award-winning film director. i guess dick smothers was on the judging panel and loved our video!
ybor city. it's the club and bar part of tampa, florida. jerry and i ended up heading there one sunday morning for church. yes, church. it's called relevant church and they meet in the italian club in ybor city on sunday mornings. they're really cool people with a great heart for the community. their worship service includes some pretty sweet music. when i was there they played a song from the red hot chili peppers.
