Bag Of Peanut M&Ms

I would like to have said that today I did something constructive with my time, but I'd be lying. Instead I woke far too early to discover the TV was left on and so I got up out of my bed and switched it off before spending the next three hours trying my best to sleep, which failed miserably and stopped itself from bothering me because today was a public holiday. What was the oaccasion? Bloody murder, that's what. ANZAC Day to me is a load of garbage and is nothing more than a celebration of people murdering others in an attempt to conquer the world. So how best to celebrate? Getting drunk. It's a sad and pitiful excuse for a waste of the day. What made it more irritating was that the shops opened after twelve, which severly cut into any potential shopping time. So after taking time out to trip up to Castle Towers and spending the time looking through various shops at absolutely nothing in particular as I am doing my best to curb my spending to place all the money into purchasing things when I am in the states later on this year (note to terrorists: please don't shoot my plane down, as much as life sucks I still want to make it back home). Particually as I have discovered that everything over there is about half price what I am paying here, factoring in the conversion rate, which is a massive saving. I will be stocking up big time. So after doing laps of every level I ended back home where I spent the afternoon going through papers and looking at more houses after discovering that yet another house that I was interested was sold even before I could get a word in. What I mean by that is Wayne Vaughn of McGraths is a uselss prick who doesn't reply to e-mails and who doesn't call back. So because I missed out on another house that I didn't mind I'm a tad pissed. I have work tomorrow and although I am glad it is Thursday, having a public holiday in the middle of the week is going to throw the rest of the week out of alignment and make every day until the weekend seem longer than ever before. Tasting blood is a dangerous thing.

There is an empty packet of peanut M&Ms on my desk.

Shameless

I have been going non-stop for 48 hours now and I am totally exhausted. Last night was a massive work event called the Astra Awards which I was invited to, so this meant I had to bring a change of clothes with me into work yesterday so that way straight afterwards I could dress and make my way there to the event. I arrived fashionably late because the taxi kept getting stuck, my date wasn't impressed, although she didn't mind when she was on the carpet except when the younger girls kept screaming when Ian Thorpe reared his ugly head. Unfortunatley for me we were stuck a table away from the ugly queen. The food was good but there wasn't enough for my liking, it was basically one plate to a group of ten and although I was at a table with work collegues and surrounded by beautify anorexic hardbody twigs, there wasn't enough for them to throw up in the toilets. My date scoffed at the comments I made about one girls hair although Sophie Faulkner did look stunning, or so M. confessed. We cut to the afterparty where we did a little dancing and then bailed on the event and bummed around the city at four in the morning until around five or so when we caught the train to Epping, I saw her off while I caught the bus into work, changing clothes once I arrived and spent the entire day today fighting with the computer. Thankfully tomorrow is a useless public holiday.

Rain

It has been one of those weekends, one of the ones where you aen't too sure of what the weather is going to do and because you don't know you can't tell of what you want to do because you are afraid of making plans and setting them in concrete because you can't tell if the weather is going to change for the worst or not. Thats what this weekend has been like.

Saturday was fine-ish and I did a little shopping. Actually what ended up happening was Richard and I did laps around three shopping centres looking for clothing for myself because I needed some new stuff but couldn't commit to buying anything because most of the clothing was nothing more that cheap imported crap with a high price tag. I didn't see the point of paying a fortune for a shirt because of its logo when its no thicker than a piece of muslin. I eventually decided on a shirt, which was in the style of a business shirt but was unable to commit to a new pair of pants, namely because I don't know how to sew and modify them to make them 'cool' in my eyes. This would mean that I would have to pull favours with someone who knows how to do that kind of thing and hope that they can fully modify it all to my design. After this we decided to do some food shopping and spent most of the $150 budget on buying junk food and snacks because at work I morph into Jabba the Hut and spend my entire day snacking on anything and everything, all the while spending a fortune on the various vending machines. It was decided that stocking up at a supermarket and bringing in junk food is a much cheaper option, slashing my spending in half.

Sunday was spent at Bondi Juntion in the mrning as it had been a whil since we were both of there and although we initially set ou to purchase more clothing, that didn't end up happened because they decresed the free parking to two hours, so that meabnt we had to leave earlier than before, ergo we didn't do what we came to do. That time was spent searching for each other in the maze of prominades and electrical stores. After bailing on there we headed to the city where I found the dream fridge, which was simply massive and perfect. We did lunch at the usual place and attempted to do some more clothes shopping. This plan was doomed from he start as I am hard to shop for. I think I am going to have to buy everything when I'm in the states. One thing about that is that it will be a lot cheaper.

Counting Down

I may have only just got into work but already I am counting down the hours, minutes and seconds until my days is over and I have to admit, I can hardly wait. Of course I have absolutely no idea of how I am going to spend my weekend, but I guess that will all be decided at the last minute or so.

Yesterday was interesting in that my boss came up to see me and when I complained about the desk, because the person here before me has left a load of stuff, he decided to go through it all and advised me that I could throw out all the boxes of paperwork and stuff, so besides cleaning my desk and transforming it into my own desk at home, not much has happened.

This Year I Must Cry Tomato

Yet another totally uninteresting day at work for me. I arrived early as normal and did a whole load of work. I also did a bit of hovering about the place both in the photocopying room waiting for stuff to print and in the kitchen admiring the set up and thinking at how well it fits in with the dream kitchen idea for the house that I want. On my way back I discovered the title of this post as a cryptic message on the notice board of someone's desk and it has intrigued me ever since, not only as to why it says what it does, but also as to where they got the magnets that made it up from. I see I like. I want. In other news I find myself getting more and more frustrated with things like wanting a house to call my own, planning and perfecting my birthday party, fixing the guest list and trying to figure out what it is that I want. I really can't seem to think of anything extravagant enough to forefil any desire that I may have. At this stage I have written a number of vague items of interest, including antique books, actually focusing on antique books, basically anything to do with keeping house, house keeping, cooking, placement, colours, design, anything to do with anything to do with the home as it would be between 1788-1900. Of course one item I would love to have as a curiosity would be a book bound in human flesh.

Really things for me couldn't have gotten much worse, stopping short of walking into one of the many glass doors and embarassing myself infront of everyone that I work with. What made my day so bad was the fact that the computer system that I have to use to do what I need to do to get my job done is a nightmare of complicated, complex little rules that govern what is to be placed where and at what time. Besides all of that I didn't get the chinese girl to deliver last night.

Out of all the stupid things Richard and I could have spent the weekend doing, we decided to waste our time going through every single maccas drive through that we could find in order to use up as many of our free big mac vouchers as humanly possible. We started with Northmead and worked our away down to Parramatta then Westmead and so on until we took the entire thing one step furthur and ended up doing both sides of victoria road to and from the city. In total for Saturday we ended up with 28 burgers, most of them were given away by us to random people since my fasting from maccas since seeing Super Size Me all those years ago. Sunday was spent out in the country, where I decided to drag Richard on a quest to view a property that is rarely seen and even rarely ventured into, which we did thanks to a very hospitible hostess who offered us tea in the drawing room of her massive estate. I'm not looking forward to going back to work on Monday, but something has to pay the bills.

Thank The Lord For Weekends

It has been one nightmarish week for me this week and I couldn't be more happy to sneak off early to go home and put my feet up. I feel as though I certainly deserve some me time so I can relax and recooperate from having put all the hard hours in. Nothing really new has happened to me so I can't report on anything in the major departments, nothing new with the people I know, no furthur plans for my birthday have been made, nothing really new with work other than it's a nightmare and thankfully I have someone to work through the load with me, cheers P. Diddy. (In wich case we see him pop out from around the corner, saying "no probs bro", giving me the cool hi-five hand thing before walking off the set) Relationship wise will be totally ignored as I'm holding baggage and am really pissed off with a everything thats happened in the past year or so, maybe two, who knows. Three. Four. Whopdie-do. I still haven't found a decent house, there was one that came kinda close but after finally squeezing a price out of the agent, I reconsidered and have thrown that idea out. The house wasn't that great anyway and they didn't have floor plans and tried to convince me that tudour windows are one of the original federation features of the property. So having done the lap with all of this, I can safely say that there really isn't anything new and certainly nothing special that needs to be reported. I'm still waiting to be swept of my feet, but thankfully daydreams are something that I can hold onto, even though I don't have anyone rocking up at my work with a bunch of roses. I can always hope thou.

This evening I am not too sure if I feel up to going out to see Theatresports as after a hard week I feel increadibly tired. Not sure of what to ahve for dinner, I was considering roasting a chicken but it's not fully defrosted so that may become tomorrow nights dinner instead.
