I'm just a small guy in a big world, trying to get somewhere so I can live my life in peace by doing what I love and enjoy. My name is Patrik Razem and I'm from Slovenia. I do what I like and I like what I do. Computers, internet, blogs, forums, cominuties, social networking, coding - these are the things I do and that I'd somehow like to do for a living. Besides that, I love playing my keyboards and my guitar (I suck at guitar). I'm always trying to compose songs, record material and show it to people to get some apprecciation. Did I forget something ? Ask me.

It's Joost Great !

It's been now a few days since I was invited to join the Joost army of beta testers and I have to say that I like it a lot. It's something new, it's something free and it's in good quality. I love it.

For those who don't know what Joost is, it's a kind of TV-on-demand, only it's distributed and streamed from the intenet. It's the 2.0 version of the television. It comes in a really nice glossy shaped software that is compatible with both Windows (works perfectly on Vista) and Mac OS. The setup is really easy and you can start watching for interesting stuff right away.

The Joost channel catalog has a few of really popular shows and channels like MTV, VH1 and Comedy Central. Besides that, there's a lot of indie music oriented shows and alternative content. The quality of the video is pretty decent and acceptable even on big screens. The shows stream quickly and without interruptions and they rarely run out of buffer. It seems to me like it has a lot of potential but the calatog is just not wide and big enough, yet, but I believe that's going to get better with time, when they start adding new prorgams and more content. It's surely a nice big step forward for the IPTV and I look forward to using it more.

If you have a chance to try it - DO IT.

Sunday bloody sunday !

I'm sitting here in my room, again. I got my window open so I can feel that little bit of fresh air cycling in and out of my room. Pretty much everything is right, nothing is actually wrong, nobody's bitching. But this day still sucks.

It's sunday, again. This is probably the worst day of the week. That feeling of your time ticking away while you're doing nothing, knowing that school starts tomorrow, but you can't force yourself to start working or studying because you're too lazy and you would like to use this remaining time to do something more entertaining than studying something that'll be forgotten next sunday. Yeah, maybe I should go out. Maybe I should get a drink with my friends or just get an ice-cream and take a walk - I don't want to.

Overall the week was pretty good. Another boring, easy, pathetic week. Didn't happen much. School is getting more boring every day and even tho I sometimes I try to concentrate on what's going on, I just get distracted by everything and everyone - I'm probably ADD.

Anyways...it's a sunny day, spring is alive and I can't wait to get off this feeling of stress. Summer will come and we will be free. I can see birds from my window. It's interesting how a window divides a really messy, dirty room from a totally clean natural enviroment. Even my room looks better with sun shining on it. Maybe I will go get some ice-cream...could make me feel better.

A big THANK YOU to Jimmy Eat World for the music that I'm listening right now.
A big FUCK YOU to my cell phone service provider for not allowing me to properly work in conjunction with Twitter.

Look Back In Anger

After a really boring day at school, me and my friends went to see Look Back In Ager, a play written by John Osborne. It was performed in british english and the cast was all british.

We finished school at 12:25 today, so after school we had some time to go to the beach, eat some ice-cream and chill out a little. We arrived at the theater at 15:25 and the play started five miutes later. The theater was full of young people, since the play would be part of our high school final exams next year. The small theater of Koper (the city I live in) gave a really unformal and warm atmosphere to the whole action and made us feel really chilled.

It started with an introduction from the director of the play - David Hampshire. The play is a story with 5 scenes and it is about the main character Jimmy Porter (Anthony Topham) who obviously is suffering from a bad childhood and a lack of adult, maternal and strong figure in his youth. Jimmy is a twenty-some year old guy, married to Alison (Carole Carpenter) who is an apathic, silent wife who is affraid to express her thoughts and feelings while Jimmy is never content with what he has in his life and is always bitching about everyone around him. The story basically shows us different sides of Jimmy's personality and how his will changes constantly and his mood is highly unstable.

The play was actually really really well played. I discovered the actors were actually interesting persons, since I went to congratulate them after the show. I'm glad I spent my money to go and see this and I'm glad british actors for the first time came to Slovenia and put up a play for us - students. I hope we'll be able to see many many more things like this.

Now I'm home, I had my lunch and after this blog I'll have to go back to study. My time out of the real world is finished for today. Thank you very much.

It's my life...

It's been a pretty nice week really, a lot of studying, though. But it was still fun, full of jokes and interesting people. Sometimes days and weeks really should be a little longer, to let us do all the things we'd like to.

All week I've been trying to study and get some school things done but somehow I always get distracted....I should ask Merlin for some advice. This is the week I started getting organized, I cleaned my room, my desktop, my hdd. Now I feel much better, everything is clear and plain - I like it. I've been actually to study pretty hard yesterday and today so I guess I partially succeeded in getting those things done. History is hard to remember, trust me, expecially if u don't give a shit about it.

Now I'm gonna go get some ice-cream and try to make some music. It's a nice sunday afternoon, but still gives me a certain feeling of
solitude. Maybe some darker tunes will come out of my head.

Too much everything ?!

So today I came home from school and I wanted to chill out a little so I grabbet some ice-cream and started checking messages and e-mails on my computer. Then I just realized how much stuff there is on internet, how many social networking sites I'm on, how many messages and emails I get every day. I mean, isn't that a freaking lot ? MySpace, Twitter, Virb, Facebook, Groovr, emails, forums.....things drive me crazy ! So, do we really need al this ? It sure is great to have various ways to connect with people and discover new things but things are actually getting out of hand and will soon be extremely hard to control.

While the worse part about this is that I come from a small country, a well developed country but not so much into internet stuff and online events so the majority of people I know don't have or don't even know about things like MySpace or Facebook.....don't get me started about Twitter. And the fact that it's getting really hard to stay up to date with this things isn't helping. If you don't follow where the internet goes, if you're not online all the time and if you don't know what's "in", than you're actually "out".

And YEAH, Virb is the shit and MySpace sucks, Twitter rocks our socks and Tumblr is the new quickest blog king, but that's what it is for this month. Next month it'll probably be a totally different thing so is it sensed to put so much work into our profiles, pages, blogs and then watch them go away ?
