GOOD GOD A lot of you are viewing my profile. Say hi or something, geez. Or is Virb just populated by bots?

I'm a little bit of everything. When something interests me, I dive in and sop up knowledge like a sponge. If I really like it, then I become good at it. I have lost count of how many times I've done this. I use the concept of renaissance man to describe this tendency, but really I think it might be a form of ADD!

To pay the bills I handle all the technology for an international consulting firm. I also write for them and help with training other businesses to succeed. For fun I cook, make web pages, hire myself out as a photographer (and take pictures for fun as well,) play guitar, work on cars, garden, play games (board and video,) and waste time on the internet.

I'm too smart for my own good sometimes, and often wish I could quiet or at least slow my brain down. I'm a good conversationalist given an opportunity to really dive in and talk about something. Alright, my ego is big enough, no need to keep patting myself on the back.

How do you design for density?

Lately we've seen a lot of movement towards usability and clean design on the web. Indeed it's a relief, and quite needed. I feel like we're still missing something.

A couple examples:

In the case of tabular data Veerle Pieters has a couple of excellent tutorials on …
