Warm and sunny at the top, but highly pressurized and cold at the bottom. No restaurants, no bars, no coffee shops, no grocery stores in the abyss, and yet every time we go there we discover something new.
I like some of the following: Moby Dick, Billy Budd, The Odyssey, To Have and To Have Not (actually, I thought it wasn't very good, but it's part of my theme), The Hunt for Red October (read it when I was 13 and liked it then; wonder if I would still?). To be honest, I really liked The Brothers Karamazov. That's the book that got me hooked on reading. I also really like Philosophical Investigations by Ludwig Wittgenstein. There are many books that didn't do anything for me, including Catcher in the Rye, which is a totally shit book.
Leopard Sharks, White Tip Reef Sharks, Stingrays, Guitar Fish, Garibaldi, Jellyfish, White Sharks, Octopi, Sea Slugs, Sea Stars, Bottlenose Dolphins, California Gray Whales, Humpback Whales, Pilot Whales, Container Ships, Common Dolphins, Squid, Swimmers, Surfers, Scuba Divers, Sea Lions, Seals, Corral Reefs, and lots of Seaweed.
