it really does amaze me sometimes that God, the King of Kings, creator of the universe... just wants to talk. to me. 1 out of 6.8 billion humans on planet earth. and he seems to be interested in the details, the mundane...

doesn't matter to me. i'm getting hooked. psalm 4 is proof that david got hooked on God's intimate conversation with him. he needed God. he couldn't live without him. and when anything happened in David's life, he went to God for help. the way he calls to God is almost shameless:

"Answer me when i call!"

"Cmon! where are you!!! talk to me! you started this in me!! and if you don't finish it, i'm going down!"

maybe that's too many exclamation points.

but i think the attitude is accurate. his confidence in God is deep: "for i know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself, the LORD hears when i call to him."

conversational intimacy with God slowly turns into concrete confidence in God.
