The End of Disco ep is a collection of warped disco tunes - they toy with preconceptions of the genre and go way beyond the harmonic and rhythmic spectrum usually associated with it. The track "You're Dancing" for example is based on a 5 beat isorhythmic pattern working through some off-kilter harmony, and contains a few tempo and time signature changes.
"I Feel Like Dancing" starts off as a cheesy eurodisco banger and warps into a Pink Floyd-like jam via some glitchy distorto disco rock madness.
"Beautiful Lady" is for my lovely wife, and works through a more poppy progression, although the arrangement is somewhat insane.
"End of Disco" is a complete deconstruction, it's like a club tune that's collapsed. It was very complex to create, as the basics were played live, with programming over the top. I beleive it is mainly in 23/16 time -although the metre constantly shifts.
The ep was a concerted attempt to upend dance music and incorporate incongruent elements of jazz, drone, sound art, folk, blues and modern orchestral technique.
