There are lots of feral kitties that come and go in my yards but lately I have such a crush on this one tomcat, I have named him Jack Morton, don't know why for sure, but he looks to me like the kind of guy that would be named that. He's a pale grey with a white nose and breast and little white bobby socks on his big feet. He reminds me of the kind of guy you'd see playing baseball, maybe infield. Big feet and sharp eyes and real quiet. i have never heard him say anything except crunch crunch when he eats.

I put food out on my carport and some other kitties come eat as well but nobody is as handsome.

He used to bolt when I would come near and when I would leave (and spy on him from the window) he would come back and scarf up the kitty food. Now he sits and looks at me so I know he is learning trust which excites me no end. I know he may disappear one day like all the others but how much better to have loved and lost, eh?

Just now I was outside and I saw him in the sun, walking up the drive to me and my heart just went zing!

he knows I call him Jack Morton now bc when I was crouching down and talking to him he sat down and turned his back to me. ah rapture~ And now and then he cruises the backyard and he and the Nummy play chase. what a great time~sometimes he will lie down beneath my car and wash himself off when I talk to him about how handsome he is.

I'm not planning on the catch and neuter scenario, not planning to have him become an indoor kitty, just wanna look at him and love him. Such a beautiful silent hungy male animal and he is getting bigger now he has somebody to take care of him.

What a world it is where the most superb creatures lack and seek food and water, I wish I would have the power to tend to all.
