Garnering influences from ancient philosophers and classic authors, Perelandra seeks to deliver concepts and ideals within their music. Tucker Blackmon, Perelandra bassist says, "In the past, we have entertained countless trendy, vapid musical excursions. We are not your everyday indie rock band that is attempting to copy the latest trend. We have taken considerable care with this entire project. From the image, the songwriting, the recording, to the live show, we have made a consistent effort to be as good as we can possibly be." Blackmon continues, "The image and idea behind the band is a simultaneously simple and complex one. We have used concepts and influences from Soren Kierkegaard and C.S. Lewis to create an underlying theme for Perelandra."

Since forming in 2006 with the current line-up, the band set forth creating music described by fans as a sensual experience created by thick-driving guitars, 90's rock driven beats and melodic vocals. Performing with acts such as Classic Case, The Almost, Red Letter Agent, Flurish, Look Mexico, Band Marino, Brenn, and To Write Love On Her Arms; the five-piece act continues to gain attention and credibility for their live performance with music of underlying themes and messages of hope influenced from philosphers, writers, poets, theologians, and modern culture.
