(Los Angeles, CA) - Peter Daily makes his solo debut with the gorgeously mellow yet
optimistically upbeat Who Is Peter Daily?. And with it, he brings a breath of fresh
air to the soundscapes of his home base of Los Angeles. Daily began recording songs in
the fall of 2006, and divided the creative process between LA, Orlando and Dallas. Who
Is Peter Daily? features former Cibo Matto member Miho Hatori on the single
"Without You," which released digitally via Sideshow Media Group on January
15, 2008, a full length will follow in Spring 2008. Paul "Coy" Allen (recently directed
the video for Timbaland's hit single "Give it to Me," featuring Justin Timberlake and
Nelly Furtado) has come on board to direct the video for "Without You."
Hailing from Texas, where he grew up around his father's gospel group, Peter Daily
emerges as a sharp and profound songwriter. Behind his lyrics, his voice becomes an
instrument, well complimenting his mesmerizing blend of 60s pop, alternative rock and
soul. Each of the EP's 8 tracks is brim with rich musical textures and catchy
arrangements.
Peter Daily has traveled around the country playing drums and piano for different bands,
most recently drumming for LA-based rapper Pigeon John. It was during a recent trek
with Pigeon John that he was inspired to step out with his own music. He'd been writing
songs as long as he can recall, and taught himself the drums when he was only four,
followed by the piano during his teenage years. It was time to pull these elements
together and create. He poured out his soul into the writing, and recorded the drums,
Rhodes and pianos, as well as synthesizer programming.
The question of the EP's title encompasses all of Daily's feelings and wonderings about
life, love, war, existence and spirituality, reflecting on the origin of being and the pursuit
of purpose. So who is Peter Daily? We reckon he's quite a bright and introspective new
talent, poised to charm those who listen.
