Peter Vanek. born 1977 The Netherlands. Currently living in Antwerp, Belgium. Reading myself into oblivion.
Found a guitar. Was taught some chords and sent on my way.
Started working on a cabaretshow (stand up mixed with songs). Recorded a cd called "WatNouNee?!cd"
Came into contact with Jamie Watts and started collaborating. Kilowatts & Vanek sparked into existence.
Made a song called Lies, a song called Conviction, a song called Kaleidoscopean Eyes and a song called Gone. Demo was done.
Got signed. Made more songs with KiloWatts and ended up with "RawQ".
Nothing much happened. Found a warm home at Diffusion Records for RawQ.
Started working on solo material which ended up on the first ever Peter Vanek album called "Thin Air".
Learned to live/love cubase/ableton/whathaveyounot
Started working on more up tempo material slowly growing into a second Peter Vanek album: worktitle "Tenderfoot"
Started working on a new cabaret show which will premier april 2008 with new dutch songs: worktitle "LeegLoper"
Finished the secretive second Kilowatts & Vanek album "Focus & Flow", which will soon be launched.
Started working on a short film in order to be able to write a concept album: worktitle "Spoor/Print"
Standing here now breathing atmosphere, bleeding beauty and feeling the universe shift around me.
Loving every second. It's all about the atmosphere; an ethereal dusk; the solitude of slow and silent motion. Break it down in little fragments, reverse thrust, u-turn and glue it all together again. These colors are seeping through the cracks of your conviction. I am a flowing through your lucid understanding. Skin leaks salted blood and the friction of two minds throwing sparks into entropic worlds beneath these melted skies. In the end, it's all about the atmosphere... rewind...press play on tape.

"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." (Vladimir Nabokov)
