One Bad, One Good

I've had my job for over a year, and I've never been irked by Asian people (in general) until now. A guest tried to check into three rooms with his "boss's credit card" number written on a piece of paper. Uh, no. He got very aggravated with Jim who tried to explain that we need either a form with the credit card number, holder's name and signature, and photocopies of the card and ID or a different credit card. He even went as far as explaining about identity theft. The guest just shook his head vehemently. Meh.

Well, there are two guests here from France, a man and woman, and they're very sweet. So, Jim and I upgraded them to a jacuzzi suite with a balcony (because the man smoked, I think) without telling them. After they had seen the room, the woman came back out to the front desk and handed me and Jim an envelope, with her thanks. We opened it up and -- $100! Fifty dollars for each of us. I've never gotten such a big tip, and never for just being nice. :)

So, because Jim and I were both overwhelmed by this couple's generosity, we decided to treat them a little especially. We got them champagne, some fruit, and truffles and delivered these to their door. Jim knocked then ran off, so I'm sure they were pleasantly surprised when they opened the door.

Oh, how I love days when I make people happy.
