After hearing about some of John Cage's experiments with using radio receivers as a musical instrument, I decided to make something similar, but using electronic rhythms as well. This was the process: first the rhythm was made on a drum machine, then it was recorded and an electric guitar was overdubbed. A shortwave radio was played in real-time over the recording, changing the frequency dial. The frequency dial was also used for scratching in some parts. The radio track was then edited using the destructive method, i.e. unwanted portions were simply erased. Some other things such as some percussion instruments were dubbed afterwards. The recording and mix date from 2005.
