Since an early age, Jorge has been jamming out to electronic sounds from the likes of DJ Dero, LA Style, 2unlimited, and the like. At the age of 15, Jorge got a hold of his first vinyl and never let go. Little known fact, drum and bass was not this deejays genre of choice. At the age of 18, he was obsessed with producers such as Nick Sentience and BK, who where producing at the time, the best house and techno. This soon gave way to Jorge producing his own tracks under the moniker "Phoenix". After becoming used to the music, he sought out different genres to expand his love of electronic music. It was during this search, that Phoenix came upon the sounds of Drum and Bass. The dramatic basslines and industrial snares soon took over his musical interest when he witnessed DJ Fresh of Ram Records in Houston, Texas. Since then, Phoenix has been spinning Drum and Bass throughout several parts of South Texas.
