I opened my Bible the other day and came to a realization that I have never observed before. The Bible as you know is full of stories... stories about our God and humanity, stories of redemption, stories of character..... I was flipping through my Bible, when the pages were forced open by something. I naturally opened to the page and inside was a folded piece of paper that i had placed in there months before. Have you ever put things between the pages of your Bible? If you are like me, you have prayers, pictures, and old bulletins shoved in various places between the pages of a book that you probably hardly ever read. This particular piece of paper had the word "MOM" written on the inside. I finally remembered that a few months back I was teaching a class and asked all of us to write someone we are praying for. My mom was diagnosed with cancer and she was the one I put on that piece of paper to pray for.... the piece of paper that was shoved between the pages of a book I hardly ever read...Exodus! I then began to wonder how many of us have placed our stories between the pages of God's. See if you are like me, you have pieces of paper from a Sunday School class, or notes from a sermon that touched your heart or even promises that gave you courage, yet they all have somehow ended up between the pages of God's story. See I think we tend to experience the Lord in our lives and leave those stories between the pages of God's. The Lord shows up in our lives and asks us to pray for someone or contend for our generation, and somehow those words or exhortations end up lost. This whole relationship with God and His Word wasn't designed for us to place our stories between the pages of His; to be lost and forgotten until we accidentally open it again. But He spoke and wrote the Word that His story would be lost between the pages of our lives, so that a world may see the light as they flip through your life everyday!
