Chanteur soliste et guitariste du groupe anglophone québécois Plajia, dont l'album Beautiful Explosion fut nominé pour le Grand Prix de la relève Archambault 2008 (en compagnie de Tricot Machine, Samian, Alfa Rococo, Gaële, Le Husky et Bruno Marcil), Patrick Pleau explore cette fois-çi, avec son premier projet solo francophone réalisé par Bob & Bill (Guy Dubuc et Marc Lessard), des thèmes à la fois urbains et oniriques. Les comparaisons utilisées pour décrire son style pointent souvent vers Daniel Bélanger, Pink Floyd ou Les Beatles, alors que ce ne sont là que des repères, des points de départ, des influences, des pistes... Il y a beau "Ne rien avoir à faire dans un bocal", comme le dit la chanson, mais comme vous pourrez le constater, Patrick utilise tout son arsenal de guitares, de claviers, de rythmes ensoleillés et de mélodies accrocheuses inspirées des années 70 pour rendre l'expérience des plus ludiques! La chanson dégage une telle lumière, un tel souffle de chaleur, un tel sentiment de liberté, qu'elle offre finalement tout pour devenir Bocalophobe! Armé d'un talent fou et d'un univers musical éclaté, bien campé dans l'âge d'or du pop autant que dans la modernité, Patrick Pleau est une voix à découvrir et qui, malgré toutes les comparaisons flatteuses, demeure totalement unique!
