Q's and A's with Playboy-Marse

So who is this Playboy-Marse then?
-Playboy-Marse is my DJ alias. I've been deejaying since the early nineties. My debut gig was at Hannas Källare in Stockholm and things took, err, slowly off after that...

What kind of music do you play?
-Hmm, it's usually dead ecclectic, but generally I stay away from the mainstream. I want to share my discoveries with people and hopefully liven up their tastes too. It's disco, rap, rock, new wave, err basically all styles but on NO account any emo, metal and "world music".

How do you merge all these things together?
-I usually don't beatmix for more than three in a row. I get bored easily. I can swiftly change music direction with some sound effects or spoken-word records. The gigs can be pretty crazy. Very rock'n'roll at times.

Vinyl or CD ... or computers?
-First of all, I have to say I loathe the whole DJ culture, the BPM snobbery. These people are worse than muso guitarr gits. Santana and the like. Deejaying should be about the songs and the atmosphere of the night. But the answer to your question is, however, vinyl. Oh, what a sad old git I am... Ha ha.
