so here are a few albums that I have become a little obsessed with.
1. Radiohed - In Rainbows (of course)

I don't care how cliché it may be but this album is incredible. From start to finish it is just mesmerizing. I didn't think Radiohead could ever release anything else that could ever come close to topping Ok Computer, but alas In Rainbows has probably enchanted me just as much if not more than Ok Computer.
oh and for your viewing pleasure here is Radiohead performing the entire album on new years eve. enjoy
2. Thrice - The Alchemy Index: Vol. 1 & 2: Fire & Water

I never was a fan of thrice... until now..they have done something amazing. They have taken each one of the four natural elements and created musical art out of them. The first two volumes are all that I have heard as of yet, but I can't stop listening. Fire sounds of older thrice but it definitely warrants the name Fire with it's vigorous guitars and its solid vocals one cannot help but to just think of fire and all of the fury and havoc that it creates. After the listener makes their way through the intensity of Fire they enter into the water. Water is exactly how it should be wet, dark and alone. Starting of with "Digital Sea" one feels like they are adrift in an endless ocean, cold and alone and that is exactly how the rest of the volume goes. With its heavily delayed guitars and programmed drums beats it's bone-chilling, distant and beautiful. I am counting the days till I get to hear the next two volumes. I never thought I would say this but Thrice has produced a masterpiece. Whatever they are doing I hope they continue.
3. Stereogum Presents... OKX: A Tribute To OK Computer

In my opinion Ok Computer is Radiohead's masterpiece (now along with In Rainbows) so a tribute album is well deserved. From the Doveman covering "Airbag" to Flash Hawk Parlor Ensemble recreating "The Tourist" this album is just exceptional. One big highlight for me on the album is David Bazan's recreation of "Let Down". David Bazan has always been a hero of mine and "Let Down" has always been one of my favorite Radiohead songs so naturally I am in love with this cover. I seriously cannot get enough of this whole Tribute. for more information on the album click here.
