Equal parts social archive, cultural lexicon, and political distillery, PSNCTRL (pronounced Poison Control) is an ongoing experiment in tactical media. Our international network of correspondents—journalists, illustrators, graphic designers, and photographers—take a raw and unvarnished look at the world via narrative nonfiction, in-depth interviews, striking visual editorials, and special reports. The projects we produce embody a fresh point of view and fiercely independent spirit, from our handmade books and pocket-sized zines to gallery exhibitions and exclusive online series. Founded by essayist and independent journalist Matthew Newton, PSNCTRL was born in the summer of 2004, conceived as an umbrella imprint that could easily be adapted to suit a variety of creative endeavors. We like to think of it as a modern survival kit for 21st century living.
