About
David Larsen is an independent composer, arranger, and bassist from Nashville, Tennessee. He has a Bachelor of Music in music theory/composition from Middle Tennessee State University, where he studied with other award-winning composers such as Michael Linton and Paul Osterfield. His string quartet, "Basking in Humility," has been featured on WPLN, Nashville's NPR affiliate radio station, and performed by acclaimed local chamber group, ALIAS. The recording of this performance has also been featured as the accompanying music to a performance piece by the Nashville-based John Holleman Company, receiving performances in Nashville and at the Fringe Festival in New York City. David is also a classically trained trumpet player who has applied that expertise to electric bass, and is now playing with several local ensembles. He is most often seen performing with the original rock band, Flair. His professional affiliations include the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), and the Society of Composers, Inc. (SCI).
