Remove mouse. System shut down.

This article was posted recently introducing the concept of a mouse free world. Read on.

http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7508842.stm

"You even have emotive systems where you can wear a headset and control a computer by simply thinking and that's a device set to hit the market in September."

Although I initially wrote this, with a bit of hysteria circulating around my shoulder causing hairs to stand on end, yesterday it's message is still very valid. I'm rewriting it to remove as much emotion as possible. The rest is up to you.

It's not a huge leap equating interest in the internet with the pursuit of understanding human behavior, personas, and in general, cognitive abilities. We've sold stock in the internet as "The Promise", "Get Connected", "The World in Your Living Room". Terms such as "Dial Up", "Information Superhighway", and "Broadband" were all coined to, ... well, inject a certain amount of anticipation that only hope provides - That wonderful 50's era of being swept off your feet while washing dishes, counting pennies or daydreaming during yet another break from the reality that surrounds you.

Yet, for a machine to think for you? seems well... Yes!, very 50's! Why not have a machine wash dishes, count pennies and render the eutopian life while surfing on my 17 in MacBookPro. Who cares if a machine can read your thoughts. Who cares if Google knows your spending habits better than you. For the government to know your thoughts, the more intimate? Where will the notion of freedom then rest.

for instance, Lying. Lying has become as American as Elvis Presely. It is our God-given right to have discretion, be it as adversarial response to accountability or reaction to hardship cheat, swindling, finagling, ducking, skirting, spinning, twisting, shading and coloring our thoughts are our right. I'm Black, You're white and the law provides a wonderful shade of infinite grey - yes! A Lie has become benchmark of Privacy via choice as Guaranteed by The Constitution of The Beauteous United States of America. What a life! What a country! What a mess we're facing!

To lie, however, should not be mistaken as virtue. There's no law against it. We've sworn on Holy Bibles with the "Yes sir, I swear, I do, but will never lie." It's like that. Then we do. Presidents get away with it as do heroes - gone is their glory when slain truths are carried beyond the threshold of human value. Gone is our glory when atrocious piles of truths blackened the hulls of moral decay. Gone is the glory where neither friend or foe approach as identity and intent are pre-described.

You can either miss that 50's era feeling, or miss the 50's era feeling. Lying will take you half way there. Lying to ourselves, Lying to them, Lying about them. Preserving America as the great country that it is, You and I may find reason to lie, to protect our morals and values, but what provides hope for reality is quietly being buried by lies. We're told it is tantamount to staying the course, shoring reserve, stealing nerve, fashioning determination, and entrenching resolve - regardless the cost, regardless the direction, regardless the country!

Isn't this sounding familiar?

It should, we're at war. Our foes stand against the principles we hold as Americans as Americans are the only God-fearing people on this earth. Correct?

So they've said.

Our friends, the (insert copy here) with the American People, the Vanguards of Freedom, will succeed in ending these tyranies of evil.

They've said.

We must hold ourselves firm, sacrificing as only The American people can, standing by our commitment to preserving Peace as only we can, Ensuring Liberty and Freedom for those seeking Democracy as only we can provide.

We've know.

Our, We, The, People, march in columns towards these vacated truths, these bastions of ourselves, finding mistruths, lies blocking every egress of reality. Are we truly the vanguards of Peace when currently, the great peaceful nation that we are is involved in no less that three theaters of war.

Who are they, then, the perpetuators of lies. The rise with every sun, fabricating prosperity, rattling arrival with every detonation. Succinctly, to understand who they are, you need only listen to the silence of the trenches they create, graves dug deeply within the nature of our soil. Distracted from efforts to secure Right of Life, Right of Privacy and Right of Freedom, Right of Speech and Right of Information and Right of Choice: The United States Government of America has decided to wrap period after period of war and death with bandages of convenience; creating pseudo 50's era sentiments that settle like a mist upon the burying dead. Forsaking Our, We, The, People, our efforts can only carry us forward.

Conveniences will continue to take form. They'll be marketed and sold to everyone around the world. Not unlike children who are given a new toy, we'll be admired for cherishing them, having them. We'll become targets of admiration as enamoration diminishes perceptive and cognitive abilities. By the millions we'll find solace, lost friends, un, applied lives, destitution, be carried away by the wonder of achievement. We'll retreat forward through another 14 years while wars continue to fill graves with lost hope.

Perhaps these devices will have their purpose recording legacies of whole nation as they perish - Those who upheld those 50's era dreams undermined by the created to falsely informed, falsely fought, against the memory of those who can no longer speak, or write, or laugh or shout.

Stop!
