Planning to protect my own tunes more thoroughly pretty soon, work up a set and get out and play. Easier said than done. It would seem that open mics have all but dried up in Paris. I'll have to research. I also have the beginnings of a fiendish plan to release a CD on the interwebs, but that's still a fledgling and I feel like I should have better mastering software before I unleash my music on an unsuspecting public. Anyone want to gift me Logic Studio? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Am still considering looking for management next year, but I go back and forth.
Learning roots and country blues guitar and hoping that this (and ragtime) will influence my songwriting. At least, break a rut. Not necessarily changing genres because I'd have to have one to change in the first place. Just filling the well. More skills should help with the writing. I think. Mostly, I haven't been writing because I write from my life and haven't been inspired of late. These days, my life is going to work, coming home and cleaning, eating then crashing. But if I want to break free of that, I have to give some more something to get some more something. Looking for time and energy. They have to be around here somewhere.
