Both Apple, Inc. and Microsoft have events planned for September 9th, each hoping to shake up the technology world with some major announcements.

Speculation says Apple will unveil a new line of its iPod Nano music jukeboxes along with high-definition video in an upcoming release of its iTunes Music program. Leaked photos have appeared on tech blogs of a slimmer, wider iPod Nano as well as protective cases, but it's unclear if these photos are authentic.

Speculation also points to Microsoft releasing a new line of optical keyboards and mice, as well as the potential for new Zune music jukeboxes with bigger memory capabilities.

Apple's event for September 9th will be held in San Francisco.
