Ramoth-Gilead

Ramoth-Gilead earned a B.S. in Music Education, but it wasn't until after college that he realized his God-given gift to write songs was something unique that he couldn't have learned from any institution. Knowing he was a late bloomer, Ramoth rose to the self challenge to teach himself guitar in a matter of months and hit the road with his songs and a new dream, to make a significant contribution to the music world with his own music. Those who have heard him will agree he's doing just that.

Ramoth-Gilead was brought up listening to his father's collection of soul music from the 60's and his mother's favorite gospel records of the 80's. When breaking away to discover music for himself, he was intrigued with the lyrics of hip-hop, the color of jazz and classical, and the feel-good music of the 70's. A lot of these early influences are prevalent in his own music and lyrics as he combines real life and humor together with colorful and rhythmically funky acoustic guitar chords.

His debut album, ATTRACTING A CROWD, is a live recorded performance which gives the un-experienced listener an opportunity to hear why so many people are attracted to his clever way with words and his unique guitar style. As a part-time street musician, Ramoth has had his share of run-ins with the law. The title of the album uses the same words that an officer described in a citation that was given to him. The incident-inspired track, "Play For Change", tells his story.

Currently in search for volunteers, local and word wide, who are willing to help get the word out about Ramoth-Gilead (the really bad). So, if you feel you or someone you know would like to make flyers, write blogs, post e-banners, etc. about the music, the shows, or whatever, just let me know. Any suggestions for a cool name for the team? Mention it when you write back to show your interest. Please send an e-mail. Thanks.

House Shows

Dallas, Philly, Atlanta, Tucson, Detroit... wherever: I'd love to play a house show in your area.

If you or someone you know is down for it, I'd love to play in someone's living room, basement, or a quiet community hangout spot. So many of you have suggested that I do this more often. Thank you for thinking I'm that awesome. Here is your chance to invite your friends out to enjoy live music together.

Just write back with suggestions or ideas and we can get it all set up. I hope to start doing this any day of the week (you be the judge on what day is best), starting August through mid December '07 . Give me three dates you have in mind to help me avoid conflicts in scheduling. My new CD, Attracting A Crowd, will be available for purchase, also.

Please spread the word to the music lovers you know. Thank you for your support. I can't wait to hear from you.
