It's one small world

You know, I tend to think a lot. Maybe more than I should, because sometimes I overthink things. But whatever...but today something that one of my friends said got me really thinking of what a small world it really is. It got me thinking of the little things and events that have happened to me over the years, and how they really reflect how small the world really is, and how each and every one of us makes an impact upon the people around us. It's a strange feeling; in some ways it's good, it makes you feel loved; but it also has the potenial to be bad...

A few years ago, I went to a summer youth program at Michgan Tech University, and I met these two amazing people. One lived in Houghton, the other in Lansing. The year after, the girl who lived in Houghton was in a car accident on her way to visit her aunt, who lives next door to the guy from Lansing's grandparents

A few months later, I was sorting through photos of a vacation that I went on the year before I went to the youth program, and I found a photo, one that I took of my older sister standing in front of a waterfall. In that picture was not only my sister but there was also Adam, the guy from lansing, standing with his father, in the photo that I took a year before I met him.

One of my sisters goes to Michigan State University. When she was checking out of her dorm for the summer, she went to turn in her key to the man at the desk. When he saw her name, he asked her if she had relatives in Mecosta, Michigan. Somewhat stunned, my sister said that yes, that was where our father grew up. He smiled at her and said "Hello, cousin"

There's just the little things, if you look closely and pay attention, that are everywhere...reminding you that the world is one Really small place, no matter how you may try to convince yourself otherwise, or how big it may seem from your point of view on the ground.
