NEW NEW NEW NEW NEWS

so, before I ramble on about logistics and other Red Chair releases releated bullshit, here's an easier roster version of what the next 6-7 months looks like for Red Chair Records:

-Super Famicom - "Texas" (Sept. 21 2007)
-Grumpy Bear 7" single (Fall 2007)
-Dustin Gamble "The Kodiak" EP (Fall 2007)
-Gary Gonzalez/The Boy in the Snakepit Split EP (Fall 2007)
-Gashcat release (Fall 2007)
-DIY or DIE Compilation CD (Winter 2007)
-Joe Still EP (Winter 2007)
-Fire Island, AK/Brother Bird Split EP (Winter 2007-2008)
-My Bicycle Emergency/Parsen Split EP (Winter 2007-2008)
-Regal Standard/Wabash Split EP (Winter 2008)

First and foremost, I'd like everyone to know that as of now, this is all we plan on releasing for the next 6-7 months. Austin and I are VERY busy individuals, and Red Chair is a big responsibility, so for now we're going to focus on the releases we've promised. Sometime in November, we'll send off the releases we've completed for reviewers and small college stations and whatnot. When the other releases are finished by the end of the 6 months, we'll send those off too.

Texas, a full-length by the multi-uber-talented Super Famicom (who is honestly the only DIY musician I know who can pop out as many albums and splits as he does and still have them come out top-notch quality and creativity) is due out by September 21st, no later, no sooner. I can guarentee you've never heard a Super Famicom album like this, so you should mos def check it out when we release it.

New on our roster is something unique for Red Chair. So far most of our releases have pertained to the folk/freak folk/noise side of DIY. Well, we've decided we don't want to get stuck in a niche and only release that kind of music, so we're releasing a split between our good friends Gary Gonzalez and The Boy in the Snake Pit, two Kansas hardcore, blow-your-fucking-face-right-off bands. It should be ready sometime in October alongside the Dustin Gamble "the Kodiak" EP, and the Gashcat release.

The Grumpy Bear 7" (which I'm the most excited for because it's vinyl and because it's Grumpy Bear) has been pushed back to November or late October due to money issues. Puting out CD's is ALOT cheaper then putting out vinyl, but god damn we will get this release finished!

THE RED CHAIR COMP is being assembled now. It's tentative title (which I thought of, so I'm sure someone will want to come up with a new one) is DIY or DIE. I'm going to set it up today, actually.

Joseph David Still, a good friend of ours from Missouri will be releasing an EP with us sometime this winter. His music is the good kind of folk, the kind that actually had a backbone and some balls to it and isn't afraid to say the right thing when it's the wrong time...yes, that kind of folk. I'm sure you Red Chair consumies will like it.

I have a split coming out with Fire Island, AK sometime January of next year. It will probably be the most epic thing ever made. It'll also be my last release until spring or summer of 2008. Also, did I mention it will be the most epic split ever?

Last, but certainly not least, Regal Standard and Wabash will be releasing a split with us this winter. These are honestly two of my favorite songwriters now, especially Wabash. Griffin is only 17 years old and can write songs on par with those I know who are much older in the DIY scene. If you miss out on this split, you'll kick yourself in the head. Trust me, it hurts and you'll get a headache.

Well, that's all (which is alot). Keep an eye and an ear out for all of this, plus a REALLY REAL website!

Peace and Love,

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW RIGHT NOW

I know it seems like so far we've been all talk and no action, but...

July-August will definitely be the months we'll get releases out. "Pictures of Mother", Regal Standard's debut EP, is DONE (finally). It's a very nice release. Parsen's full length LP "Summer in Your Backyard" is going to be soon. After that we should be looking at getting Super Famicom's full length "Texas" ready by mid-late summer. I'm sure it'll be great (it's Super Famicom, come on). After that we have the Boo Hiss/Margo May split to hopefully be done this summer, or early fall, the Grumpy Bear 7" (which is going to be an epic single), a possible release by Dustin Gamble, a split with Parsen/My Bicycle Emergency, a release by Matthew and the Arrogant Sea (JUST IN), an epic Red Chair Records compilation series for this late fall/winter and a full-length by me and a full length by Regal Standard sometime next year. oh, and Parsen has recorded a semi-concept EP to follow his album. i've heard it, and let me tell you...its fucking epic.

So here's a tentative list of what we're looking at here:

Pictures of Mother EP (Regal Standard) - OUT THE WEEK OF JULY 8-15
Summer in Your Backyard LP (Parsen)- Mid to Late Summer
Texas LP (Super Famicom)- Mid to Late Summer
Boo Hiss/Margo May Split EP- Late Summer (?)
Grumpy Bear 7"-Early Fall
Dustin Gamble release (pending)- Fall
My Bicyle Emergency/Parsen Split EP- Fall (?)
Matthew and the Arrogant Sea (pending)
1st Red Chair Records Compilation- Fall
The Perk-O-Lator Full Length LP- 2008
Regal Standard Full Length LP-2008

Hopefully we'll launch our website this summer too, and set up some smoother operations. It's definitely looking good for our little DIY label.

Peace and Love
