So updating the Beast got thrown on the back burner pretty quick thanks to a combination of work, Racecar and GTA IV. After all my ranting is seems one of the only things editted in the game is shots of shagging hookers in your car - in the Aussie version the camera zooms right in to the bumper while you bump her, but in the US/UK version you get to see everything. I heard there might be a pretty graphic cut scenen missing, and possibly a little less blood in general too. Anyway, I'll talk about GTA more next post coz at the moment I can't drag myself away!

Amy Racecar headed to NZ to play a few shows last week and what a heck of a great time it was, too! Me and Chicco arrived in NZ at about 1am Friday morning and crashed in Auckland with Emery for the night. We cruised down to the filthy old Hamilton and mucked around town before packing in to the Yellow Sub for our show. Going back to Hamilton was pretty weird; it's a crazy old place, The Tron. Seeing the V8 crap everywhere was pretty funny, but in general you just forget how small that place was. It felt like the first time I moved there. The show was a heap of fun. It wasn't that well attended (about 35 people) but the cats that were there went hard and we had a great time. It was awesome playing with Ashwin and Gaz again. Good times!

Crazy old Emery drove to Rotovegas after the show to run a marathon(!) and me and Chicco crashed at Skwirrals place. The next morning started my 38 hour stretch of being awake! Matt picked us up from Hams in the afternoon and we drove up to Auckland to get ready for the Whammy show. The Phony Bone guys were great to hang with (we got chinese food and talked about the topic of sexual assault in comedy) and they did a great job of promoing and playing the shows with us. Top chaps!!! The gig ended up being great. It was pretty packed and all the bands played huge!

Anyway, after the show (and drinking half a bottle of Baileys with Kristie Cakes) I got dropped back out at the airport at about 3am. Checked in at 4am. Flew out at 7am. Arrived home in Melbs around 11am after catching pretty fitful 20 minute blocks of sleep on the plane. Attention stewards: if I'm asleep I probably don't care about your shitty breakfast! So, after a nice feed of bacon and eggs and a couple of coffees at the local cafe I settled in for some GTA. Which is where I've been for the last week.
