Well, I was born a coal miner's daughter
In a cabin on a hill in Butcher Holler
~ Loretta Lynn
Actually it was called Lick Branch Holler and it wasn't exactly a cabin but the rest is true. I grew up in a rural area in Eastern Kentucky and at the ripe ol' age of 18 I headed off to the big city.... well a much bigger city.... to learn about art and the ways of the world. I discovered I very much liked electronic/alternative music, traveling to new and interesting places, photography and creating art in general. I became a graphic designer, then threw multimedia into the mix with a generous sprinkle of technology luv and social networking interest to arrive at my current position as a multimedia designer at a local university. I like where I am in my life now but there is nothing like a little bluegrass music and a drive through the Appalachian mountains to make me appreciate my upbringin'!
