Even when they call us mad, when they call us subversives and communists and all the epithets they put on us, we know we only preach the subversive witness of the Beatitudes, which have turned everything upside down -- Oscar Romero
There is a world out there that is dying, hurting, without hope, without clothing, without food, without friends, or family. It's everywhere from the streets of our town or city, to farthest of nations. I ask you this - if it takes around 24 hours or less to go anywhere in the world, and all it takes is extending a conversation, a hand, a shirt, or a meal to change someone's world, what are we waiting for?
We extend this invitation to all of us to revolt. to challenge what is seen and unseen. to not accept to see our neighbors, strangers, brothers and sisters, where they are at, but to take them into our lives through compassion and authentic relationship. it's easier than seems, and we'll never know till we try.
May we live every day in revolt. not against any person or thing, but a revolt that instead, moves towards justice and towards the people, places, and things affected by unjustice actions and decisions. a revolt to not accept the normal, but to challenge the status quo of injustice and indifference in the world with hands and hearts full of compassion.
So...Let's take it to the streets. Are you revolting?
[the Revolt Collective presents] starve.your.life : a 40-day call to a holistic fast Jun 2
This summer marks the 40th anniversary of the Summer of Love--a season in 1967 where 100,000 flooded San Francisco to experience the hippie movement, marked by drugs, casual sex, perversion, mysticism and rebellion against God and authority. The purity and beauty of real love was tainted.
Let's have a Summer of Love in seeking the face of the one who loves us by starving our life so we can find real love and life again.
"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." Thank you for your friendship! Musical greetings from Munich/Germany!

About a year ago I started trashdiving in many rich neighborhoods of Los Angeles. Whatever I recovered, which was mostly clothing I donated to the Midnight Mission in downtown LA. Every once in a while I'd find something obviosuly expensive, then I'd sell it and donate the money instead. This went on for about eight months until I was sued for diggin in other people's trash which apparently is against the law. They were kind enough to drop the charges when I explained my situation, but I'm no longer allowed around trashcans anymore. Just a little story to share
