spirit-led people

Tonight, our church examined Acts 8. Jesus shines bright through a man named Philip. Philip is described as a person who is led from city to city by the spirit of God. He leaves Jerusalem to head to Samaria. Later in the chapter, an angel tells him to go down by a specific road outside of the city. After that, the Spirit of God tells him to speak with a stranger. Philip obeys, and each time God does amazing things through him. He is able to impact entire communities because he chose to obey the Spirit. The spirit leads, and he follows.

I wonder if I'm too intellectual with my faith. There aren't many "rational" events in the Bible. Even if you could come up with tons of archaeological evidence, you could not explain a man walking on water, or the dead coming back to life. Is it possible that God could be calling us back to trusting him, even if it doesn't all make complete sense or "add up"?

Mind you, this is not an attempt to bash on wisdom. I believe God gave us a mind to use for his glory. But if faith truly is "the evidence of things unseen and the substance of things hoped for" then there needs to be a certain amount of irrationality to it as well. It boggles the mind, but strengthens the heart.

Be spirit-led.
