Well, first week of school is over, and where do I find myself? PANERA! That's right, seminary wifi has not improved over the summer. I don't know how they could advertise high speed internet in their apartments and dorms and not give it. It's robbery I tell you!
Here is my class schedule for this semester:
Systematic Theology II
Systematic Theology III
Intro. to Old Testament Theology I
Hebrew Syntax and Exegesis
Hermeneutics
My first classes in each of these subjects were awesome! I already started writing papers so the end of my semester will be easier. I will be flying down in November to officiate Brigitte's wedding.
I'm doing what I can to finish my degree in a sensible time. (or at least what I consider sensible) This week has presented itself with more opportunities for adventure. I'm apartment hunting again. I found out that campus was not the cheapest place in Louisville to live. Tomorrow, I will go investigate a few spots and see if I can change my residence in January. God willing, I'll find a place that is within means and offers free wifi, cable, pool access, and free pizza on Fridays. I know, my standards are a bit high, but it's where I'm going to live!
Other than that, I miss my girlfriend, family, and friends. It's going to suck next week on my birthday, but I know that God has a plan. Maybe I'll drive up to Chicago for the weekend. Maybe not. In the meantime, I'm still looking for a decent part time job. No word yet from the great and mighty Apple store, but hopefully things will pick up soon.
God is teaching me to be patient and trust him in this time. Sometimes, I look at seminary as a means to a degree. God spoke through one of my teachers this week to let me know that it can be so much more. This is a time for me to listen to God and take risks as He guides.
