have I written about my book club? an excuse for my good friends and I to get together, it's often a struggle to find a book all of us are willing to read. i was hesitant on this one. it was an oprah winfrey book club book. but 'the road' by Cormac McCarthy could quie possibly be one of the most thought provoking novels that I have read in the past 12 months. Post apocalyptic beyond anything read before. The earth is not just scorched, but completely dead. Humans reduced to cannibals. The planet a rain of deathly ash. The almost poetic story of a father and son. Travelling the road. there is no salvation. Only survival.
