driving through a ghost town...
all the doors are banned from air
thanks to the bars and lock-down doors.
but we don't turn around to
look behind us. everyone is hiding
up in trees and against walls,
dressed in camouflage to protect
the underground life after this one.
after we've passed, they return to
the coolest thing that no one else can see:
sprinting through the streets like car chase scenes,
flying across roof-tops,
opening doors to unveil
an ethereal kingdom.
we should turn around and take another pass,
only to find nothing.
they're only hiding.
