This visualization is interested in vehicle movement, nighttime colors and old school switchboards. It doesn't worry about the shape of cars, the local extensions of each jack or the RGB values of nighttime. It defocuses the status quo and emphasizes the special.

In this weekend project I recorded about 16,000 stills in 6 hours at the Full Sail DAT Art Studio during "DADA", an open club in which students can come in and make stuff. Shooting at around 4.5fps on my D90 (Tamron 17-50 2.8, Nikkor 50 1.8) using Pat's intervalometer, I captured a neat film-like flicker during the process. For post, I brought the images sequences into After Effects and adjusted color curves to fit the feeling of each scene, exporting them back out to Final Cut where I cut everything together. Music by Passion Pit, "Sleepyhead".

I know a person who is a heartfelt capitalist. They resist all public institutions and see the worst in bureaucracies. From the many hours I've spent listening to their woes, I finally scratched out a surreal interpretation of their mindset.

Visualizing the Chris Fraser Remix of P-Money's song "Everything," I shot Roynel on green screen, made cuts to the footage in Final Cut Pro, and match-moved those into 3D cameras with PFTrack. The lyrical typography was animated and rendered in 3ds Max, from which I turned out sleek, saturated, and energetic composites in After Effects. Total project duration: about 2 weeks.

Boards of Canada is known for their unique use of 70s-style media and warm, scratchy, often distorted and time-bent sounds. Using their song "Dawn Chorus," a vivid auditory scope is complimented with a visual interpretation of morning life. Shot exclusively on a Nikon D90. Edited in Final Cut Pro, with minor compositing in After Effects and color correction in Color.

A bowling promo for a new, colorful line of bowling balls by Hammer, sponsored the Professional Bowlers Association. Using vibrant, retro colors, and composited, "out-of-place" bowling balls and pins, this ad targets 50-and-up-year-old males to take their families out to the lanes and roll some of their own color.

Roynel Flores and myself shot this using my D90 in a single take in downtown Orlando. Frame by frame, using only this 288 frame sequence in Photoshop, we repainted areas of the image to make ourselves disappear and reappear. Visual effects in After Effects, Audio effects in Logic. Total project duration: about 60 hours.

This is the culmination of various visions presented to me in-between the waking world and perilous depths of my subconscious. Objects and my head were shot on green screen, with minor roto work, composite edge blur, color matching and light wrapping organized in 158 compositions within After Effects, accompanied by a killer audio score from Amon Tobin, "The Killer's Vanilla," and some minor 3D renders. Project time frame: 2 weeks.
