In case you haven't already learned this lesson, please never become angry or disappointed because someone to whom you sent an email never responded to you. Recently, I had one sent to me and tried to reply but the email address was bad/incorrect and there really was no way for me to rectify that, so for that person the message went unanswered. Some things just can't be helped, but perhaps it was for the best after all.

There's nothing offensive about this video. I haven't seen any explanation by the Austrians about what prompted this, but it seems to have been planned a bit beforehand. Interesting that the singing ('Singin' the Rain') and the antiphons ('Blazers off, ties off, etc.) are in English. I think it was part drink, part just lads having fun, and a little good-natured 'in your face' to the winning team. It's funny, in a 'laughing with you, not at you' kind of way. I hope the team's not embarrassed by it -- I admire them for having the balls to do something like that. It's cool, too, that Lithuania merely said that what they did could possibly be seen as an act of hooliganism, but there was obviously no effort to arrest them. I have a feeling that, had this happened in the U.S., it would have become an international incident.

Walhalla Awaits

I just listened to the new Heidevolk CD, Walhalla Wacht. It's been out for a month in Europe but just released in the U.S. I would rather have ordered it from the band themselves but I ordered it from Amazon because it's important to show American companies that people here want this music. I made it a personal mission last year to make sure this band gets more notice here in the U.S., doing the little bit I can.
