- Do church satellite campuses have to resemble each other?
- What does a church building made of recycled materials say about the people within? That Jesus repairs the broken? The used? Ummm, yes. Listen to "Remedy" by David Crowder Band...rock it.
- Again sustainability: what role do the followers of Christ have (or need to have) in being good stewards of the earth? How is this communicated?
- Can issues such as sustainability, or domestic abuse, or sex abuse (you know, the dirty issues) be used as a catalyst for spiritual change? I believe Jesus-lovers speaking out and discussing the hard issues may have a profound impact on somone who does not know Christ.
- Side note: why do Christ followers still insist on dividing their lives into "spiritual" and "something else"? Did Jesus live that way?
- STORY + IDEA:
Everyday at Clemson there are those people you notice. You know, the people that kind of make an impression on you a few seconds longer as you notice them walking by... well, today I came to the realization that if I walk by one more college girl in a depressed, FAKE, UNDER-VALUED, JOY-LESS state...I may become depressed myself. I think there are a lot of college-age women who do not realize their true potential and value in the sight of God (and there are the guys that have this too). I would like to propose an idea:
Maybe someone should THROW A PARTY to show these invisible women who they are in Christ. Like a conference. Nothing overly Christianese, but something that is simply a catalyst for spiritual joy that brings with it the joy and realization of potential from God.
I think that there are some godly women out there who are up to the task. I must have been inspired when I saw the video of a women's conference at Hillsong Church. We need to begin the work of helping college-age girls (and guys) UNLOCK their potential as children of the ONE TRUE GOD, the God of Joy, Love, and Truth.
I pray that this will be so (amen).
