Welp, I'm getting hitched.

So this is a blog from my other blog...of which I am probably going to rid myself of...we'll see. I wanted to see how it works...here goes.

Well it has been 16 days since Andrea and I got engaged and I can honestly say that it STILL has not hit me yet. Will it ever? Maybe after we get married. Maybe after 80 years of marriage to my bride. But even then, it still won't fully hit me. Not until I meet Jesus face to face and he says "Dude, did you like what I put together?". Maybe then it will hit me. HOLY SMOKES I AM THE MOST BLESSED MAN EVER!!

Okay, okay. So I think that the top three questions that we are still getting are: "When are you getting married?", "Where are you getting married?" and "So how did it happen?". The last being the purpose of this post. If you have already heard the story, you can skip to the bottom. If you haven't, then here goes:

On Thursday, February 8th, John Mayer was playing a concert in Columbia (SC) - also known as the Armpit of the South - and Andrea and I went and saw him jam out on his guitar. He is really really good at that. We stayed the night with my sister and then had breakfast with my parents the next morning. After breakfast, we got in the car and headed back to the upstate where we were to meet a CARMAX rep about buying a new car for me (2005 Nissan Pathfinder...suh-weet). It worked out well because Andrea just thought I was really nervous about buying a new car (never mind the diamond ring in my pocket!!). Anyways around 5:30 I was finishing up signing the papers, and I noticed Andrea yawning. I said, "We need to do something to get you some energy" to which she replied. "I could sure go for some coffee." In my mind, I was thinking, "How about a ring?" Anyways, we left carmax around 5:50 and headed to the Peddler for dinner. As we were on our way there, we past the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd (the first church I ever designed) and noticed that the lights were on (conveniently.... I had called the church the day before) and so we pulled in. Andrea was still oblivious at this point. The receptionist answers the door and completely goes along with everything. I show Andrea around the church and we end up in the sanctuary. I walk her down the aisle (still oblivious) and at the foot of the altar is the box of things that we have done while dating (ticket stubs, boarding passes, etc.). It hit her what was happening when I open the box. Anyways, I told her I love her and that I would love the opportunity to be her hubby and she said YES!! It was great. So we hugged...kissed...kissed...kissed...and then I said turn around. And there was Lanna taking pictures of the whole thing!!! (thanks Lanna!)

Then we met both families for dinner (she didn't know about that either) and friends for coffee after that....Man it was awesome.

As for the other two questions:
Where: Christ Church in Greenville,SC
When: September 22nd, 2007. See you there!!
