The Lovin' Guns tour was a success, and the boys from The Strip proved to be a wonderful group of lovable, talented touring mates. Like most great initiatives, learning was key. We learned each other's songs, the boys learned how to spend three weeks without their girlfriends, we learned how to stave off sasquatch attacks, I learned to drive standard... we all learned that Vancouver is a great place to learn about hill starts, and we learned that a car without heat in Northern Canada is absolutely terrifying.
All in all, we had a blast, arriving home to Toronto just in time for The Strip to release their album, Stick to Your Guns.
I looked into getting the heat in my van fixed, but unless Canada Council has a grant for fixing tour vehicles, it looks like I'll have to do without, and so the south calls me!
The last few weeks I've been soaking in the Nashville scene, experiencing the best in songwriting and country and bluegrass, and adding to my cowboy boot collection. The Canadians have been warmly welcomed here and I'm sad to say I'll be leaving in just two days, heading to even warmer climates.
If you're in Nashville, here's where and when you can bid adieu to your Canadian friends:
December 11th
6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
3rd & Lindsley
Like many grandparents before me, I have realized that December in Florida is much more attractive to me than a slushy Toronto. And so this weekend, I'll be heading to Florida via Georgia, to embark on The Snowbirds Tour, some good practice for retirement. For a full list of dates please check the shows section.
Take care of your hearts and souls! May the winter season bring you coziness and good times with friends and family!!
