About

"Saskia" is a Spanish vocalist who is making her debut on Soulseek's SLSK Records. Her music is a infectious but unusual blend of pop, I.D.M., and triphop. Thanks to collaborations with more established artist/producers such as KiloWatts and Joe Troski, Saskia has been able to bring her songwriting visions to life.

From the lustful "Carried Away" to the poignant "Strong", Saskia's songs are perfect for radio play, the dancefloor, or soundtracks. Particularly touching is "The One", written in New York, which speaks of the illusions that we all have about our relationships, even as they are failing. "The One" was the subject of a system-wide remix contest conducted on Soulseek; 900 remixes were entered in an attempt to be the remix to make it onto the final pressing of the "deep" CD.

Saskia is inspired by city lights, love lost and love won, lust, the essence of male and female, despair, and elation. She manages to touch on all of these emotions, yet leaves them digestible enough for the dancefloor. As a songwriter, she is a mistress of the melodic hook, carving out choruses that remain in the listeners' head for days afterward. From the lustful "Carried Away" to the poignant "Strong".
